:pokeball: Introduction

Poképlatform, an Island made from a volcano that erupted thousands of years ago is now the home to a species called Gijinka.
Gijinka combine both the genetic make-up of Pokémon and Humans, but appear mostly humanoid. Although there are many popular theories, the exact origin of their species is still unknown.

Tensions between Gijinka and Human society have existed ever since the two groups first met. In the past both of them evolved next to each other, with fights between them not being any more frequent than fights among them. Some Human communities existed in peace with Gijinka communities whereas others fought each other.

But some centuries ago, political and social friction escalated. The true reason for the start of the conflicts is lost in propaganda from both sides. Humans denounced Gijinka abominations whereas Gijinka accused humans of being lesser beings. Differences in the mentalities of Gijinka and Humans started to cause a deep rift between the two. Negotiations failed. When humans could use modern weaponry in addition to trained Pokémon, they didn't fear the possibility of a campaign against Gijinka anymore.  Despite lacking the organization of human nations, Pokémon-Gijinka rebelled against this motion and didn't hesitate to take the fight to the humans.
The conflicts ended several decades ago on a bitter end. Only a few, very distant regions are still actively engaged in battle.

Nowadays, there are still tensions between Gijinka and humans because of the political disputes that never got resolved.
The persisting bias gave the ruling authorities ground to denounce one another. After Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova, now even Kalos joined humanity's effort against Gijinka, casting them out, treating them as second-class citizens and monitoring their communities in reservations. On the other hand, Gijinka-terrorist assaults on public human events are a common occurrence everywhere. Other countries have decided to stay out of the conflict or withhold their opinion on it. Some regions are still peaceful, but communities in which both Gijinka and Humans can see each other eye to eye have become exceedingly rare.

In these times of strife, the legendary Pokémon that have shaped this world seem to remain neutral, hiding and avoiding the struggle of their creations, perhaps knowing that each side would like their favor to cause harm and destruction to the other.

Today Poképlatform Island is the hub of Gijinka civilization. It has succeeded in staying neutral and peaceful towards the outside world despite the conflicts of the past and present disputes.
This has lead to its growing reputation as Gijinka sanctuary.
But what is the price of this peace? And how long can it last before it draws unwanted attention? Is there a reason the other nations avoid the island? What secrets does the island hold?

Until now the citizens of Poképlatform live in oblivion of these questions, living their peaceful days away.
But this could change.
